BACKYARD BABIES Announce Tribute Appearances, Land Swedish Grammy

Sweden's BACKYARD BABIES have just finished recording a version of THE RAMONES' "Pet Cemetery" with producer Pelle Gunnerfeldt (FIRESIDE) for the upcoming RAMONES tribute album The Song Ramones The Same. Other artists set to appear on the tribute CD are THE HIVES, THE HELLACOPTERS, SAHARA HOTNIGHTS and THE DICTATORS, among others. In other news, BACKYARD BABIES will shortly enter the studio to record a song for the upcoming tribute to NATIONALTEATERN, a Swedish band from the '70s. Other acts set to appear on that tribute include THE HELLACOPTERS, and THE SOUNDTRACK OF OUR LIVES (featuring a guest appearance by THE CARDIGANS singer Nina Persson), among others. Also on the BACKYARD BABIES front, the quartet won a Swedish Grammy in the "Best Hard Rock" category on February 14th at Globen in Stockholm, where they beat out ENTOMBED, OPETH and SAHARA HOTNIGHTS.
