POWERMAN 5000's SPIDER ONE: New Songs Are Most Kick-Ass Tunes We Have Ever Written

POWERMAN 5000 frontman Spider One has offered the following update on the band's activities via the group's official web site at www.powerman5000.com:

[New drummer] Adrian [a.k.a. Ad7] is working out great - he really fits into the band perfectly. You all are gonna be blown away by his drumming skills!! He truly is one of the most rockin' drummers around!

Now, you all want to know what's up with the bass player situation, right? So far we've auditioned about 30 players and a lot of them have been extremely talented. Now it's time for round 2, when we bring back the best of the bunch to see who fits in with the chemistry of PM5K. We are being super picky, 'cause we don't want to settle for just anyone! That being said, I think we're getting really close to finding the right guy...

Lack of a bassist hasn't really slowed down progress on the album much. [Guitarist] Adam12 has really helped out a lot in that department. We've got more than enough material written for the new disc, and we're now figuring out which songs will make the cut. So recording this record is just around the corner!!! We can't wait! Everyone in the band agrees that these new songs are some of the most kick-ass tunes PM5K has ever written!

So now you probably want to know what the new stuff sounds like... well, let's just say that we are definitely expanding our musical horizons! The energy between me, [guitarist] M.33, Adam12 and Ad7 is undeniable, so expect a less programmed, more 'live' sound. My vocals are more catchy and melodic - I'm singing much more than I ever have, which is cool. I've had a lot of shit on my mind these last few months, and it's all coming out in my lyrics. Well I don't want to give away too much more... you guys want some surprizes don't you?
